Amber contribute to assignments that focus on strategic and community-wide housing matters.
Amber has worked in the housing sector since 1994. Amber has extensive knowledge of local government strategic housing functions, and significant experience of managing a range of local government customer-facing services. Amber has worked with the National Audit Office to represent District CouncilS on the development of their 2017 Homelessness Report.
Amber worked for Swale Borough Council from 2009 to 2018, where she was head of a range of services areas, which included bring empty homes purchase and repair, refugee resettlement programme, housing benefit, council tax and business rate administration, plus other matters. She worked with the Local Government Association and the Ministry of Housing, Communities and Local Government on the costs impact of the Homelessness Reduction Act 2017.
Amber worked for Thanet District Council from 1994 to 2009, where she managed strategic housing functions, included housing allocation and homelessness functions, private rented sector services, plus housing enabling, policy and strategy. she ALSO developed 'daily bidding’ for choice based lettings schemes.
Amber holds Chartered Institute of Housing Professional Diploma from DeMontford University, plus a Diploma in Management Studies from Christchurch University.
