Gary has worked in the housing sector since 2001, previously holding roles in NATIONAL GOVERMENT AND AT A voluntary ORGANISATION. he'S AN EXPERT IN PUBLIC ADMINISTRATION, CAPACITY BUILDING OF NONPROFIT ORGANISATIONS, PLUS brokering private investment for new HOUSING OPTIONS AND TEMPORARY ACCOMMODATION.
Gary IS CO-AUTHOR 'HOUSING OUR HOMELESS HOUSEHOLDS', published in 2017 by THE LOCAL GOVERNMENT ASSOCIATON'S 2017, WHICH PROMOTES GOOD PRACTICE IN ADMINISTERING TEMPORARY ACCOMMODATION DUTIES.
Gary worked for Homeless Link from 2011 to 2016, as head of strategy and partnership programmes. HE LED ENGAGEMENT WITH VOLUNTARY ORGANISATIONS, SHARED GOOD PRACTICE, AND INNOVATED NEW APPROACHES TO TACKLING HOMELESSNESS. HE ALSO WAS RESPONSIBLE FOR OVESEEING EVALUTIONS OF PEOPLE SLEEPING ROUGH ACROSS Greater London AND SOUTH EAST ENGLAND.
GARY worked for the UK Government From 2001 to 2011. initially he was lead officer in the Rough Sleepers Unit, ensuring that a target to reduce rough sleeping by two-thirds was achiveved and maintained. Latterly, he was head of homelessness programmes for the Department for Communities & Local Government, achieving a 50% reduction in the number of households in temporary accommodation. HE WAS RESPONSIBLE FOR MANAGING MULTI-MILLION POUND REVENUE BUDGET FOR PREVENTING HOMELESSNESS.
